Destination Photographer
Absolutely Loved destination wedding photography specializes in destination weddings. “One day we wake up in our North Shore Oahu home and the next day we’re waking up in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for a wedding,” says Anna Riedel. We keep our schedule flexible, as well as our aesthetic tack. “We don’t have an agenda, nor a list of shots we need to procure on the wedding day,” she says. “I like the event to naturally unfold. Each wedding is unique, I simply show up to document it all.”
About 97 percent of our destination wedding clients come to us via the web. They can plan from thousands of miles away. We evaluate their event based on questions we present, and make sure we’re all on the same page in terms of expectations.
We often end up forming tight relationships with our clients. On a destination wedding, we are totally surrounded by people on vacation having the party of their life. The best part is being in the heat of the moment as a storyteller and knowing we tripped the shutter on many frames that our client cannot live without. We find ourselves in the middle of raw emotion and positive energy on a weekly basis.
The key to success for destination weddings is networking. From our experience, every event is about the contacts established before, during, and after shooting a wedding. Nursing the relationship of these contacts expands our business and benefits our clients in a big way.
We especially like working with clients who try new things. We seek out brides who really want to have fun with a photo session, setting hardly any boundaries for us. “Now that’s living!” Stefanie notes that “digital technology broadened creative horizons—for instance, more experimentation with off-camera flash-lighting concepts. Ultimately, we get to live vicariously through our clients trusting the vision of our brand.
