Documenting love in Hawaii is a dream come true.
Stefanie & Anna
When Stefanie Riedel began her wedding photography business in Hawaii, she never thought that she and her daughter Anna, would someday be documenting love and joy together as a team. But both will say it is probably the best thing that could have happened!
The Story of Absolutely Loved
“My mother, Stefanie Riedel, fulfilled her childhood dream of moving to Hawaii from Germany in her early 20’s. Her first trip to the island of Oahu wasn’t supposed to span more than a few weeks, but she never left. There were more than a few reasons; the temperature was never too hot or too cold, the seafood was delicious, and there was a surfer guy jumping to take her out on a date. Suddenly the idea of getting married and raising kids in Hawaii was very appealing. The rest is history.
My mother truly is an artist at heart. Childhood memories are filled with colorful scenes of her creating decorative flower beds in the garden and painting, mostly on canvas and silk. She was a self taught artist and had been photographing since she bought her first camera, when she was 18. Driven by her love for my brother and I, and the desire to give us a better life, she started her wedding photography company when I was about 6 years old. She was fortunate enough to have encouragement and guidance from family and friends, who saw her artistic ability and wanted her to be able to share it with the world, starting with Hawaii. With these elements: talent, support, and determination, her business grew into Absolutely Loved Photography and it thrived. Little did she then know, that less than 10 years later, her daughter would become an employee in the company and a family legacy would begin.
As a loving and attentive mother, she always wanted my brother and I close by and both of us grew up around her wedding photography business. When I was 14 years old, I began my apprenticeship as a photographer. Since then, my commitment to photography has been fueled by my mother’s example, inspired through travel, and honed at Rocky Mountain School of Photography. Today, my mother and I own and operate Absolutely Loved Photography together. My brother Lucas has also become our primary second photographer and assistant. We enjoy working together as a family and couldn’t be more thankful for the wonderful experiences it has brought us. Each wedding couple is unique, and this makes every event special to us. Documenting the remarkable love and connection between two people is an honor and blessing. Being able share my love of photography with my mother and teacher truly is a dream come true.” - Anna Riedel
